Description
This lot consists of a total of 99 rounds of .223 Remington centerfire ammunition produced by Black Hills Shooters Supply and Black Hills Ammunition of Rapid City, South Dakota. The collection includes 50 cartridges featuring black-tipped projectiles and 49 cartridges featuring standard copper-jacketed projectiles, organized within two white foam trays and original blue cardboard boxes. This ammunition appears to be remanufactured using various surplus military brass cases, with prominent headstamps transcribed as LC 66, LC 67, LC 72, and LC 73, identifying the brass as Lake City Army Ammunition Plant surplus from the 1960s and 1970s. Packaging markings include the Black Hills Ammunition logo and the slogan The Power of Performance alongside the caliber designation. The ammunition is housed in standard 50-round trays, though one slot remains empty to reach the verified total count of 99 rounds.
Condition report:
The ammunition and packaging are in used condition. The brass cartridge cases show varying degrees of tarnish and surface oxidation consistent with age and the storage of surplus components. Projectiles appear properly seated. The white foam trays are intact with minor soiling. The blue cardboard boxes exhibit significant edge wear, scuffing, and minor tearing at the corners and flaps. We have not function-tested this ammunition.
