Gun Collectors Dream Auction #84 June 13th & 14th
Lot 1231:
Sold for: $65
Description
This lot consists of 100 rounds of remanufactured .22-250 Remington caliber centerfire rifle ammunition, contained within two blue translucent plastic MTM flip-top storage cases. The cartridges are divided into two load types as indicated by handwritten labels on the interior of the lids. One box contains rounds loaded with orange polymer-tipped ballistic tip bullets, with markings specifying a 55-grain projectile and a powder charge of 33.5 grains of H335. The second box contains spitzer-profile lead soft-point bullets, labeled as 40-grain projectiles over a charge of 34.4 grains of AA 2520 powder. Transcription of the lid labels for the ballistic tip rounds includes .22/250, 55gr BLT, 33.5 H335, and T18 SEPT. The spitzer round label reads 22/250, 40 GR SPITZER, and 34.4 AA 2520. All cartridges utilize brass cases. As these are remanufactured rounds of unknown provenance, they are sold as components for salvage only.
Condition report:
The ammunition is in generally good condition, with the brass cases showing minor surface tarnish and age-related discoloration consistent with long-term storage. Several lead-tipped bullets in the spitzer load exhibit white lead bloom or oxidation on the points. The blue plastic MTM storage boxes are intact and functional, though they show light surface scuffs and handwritten ink notations on the interior of the lids. The cartridges appear live, but as they are remanufactured handloads, their mechanical reliability and safety have not been verified.
