Lot 1236:
Sold for: $140
Description
This Winchester Model 69A is a bolt-action repeating rifle chambered to accept .22 Short, Long, or Long Rifle cartridges. It features a 25-inch tapered barrel and a blued finish on the major metal components. The rifle is equipped with a smooth, one-piece wood stock featuring a pistol grip and a black checkered composite buttplate. The sighting system consists of a fixed front blade and an adjustable rear leaf sight mounted on the barrel. The rifle includes one detachable curved box magazine. Prominent markings include the barrel address “MADE IN NEW HAVEN. CONN. – WINCHESTER – MODEL 69A – U.S. OF AMERICA — TRADE MARK — 22 S. L. OR L. R. -“. Both the receiver and the barrel are stamped with the Winchester WP proof mark within a circle. The checkered buttplate is embossed with the “WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO.” logo. The side-mounted safety is noted as being broken and requires repair. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The metal surfaces show significant signs of age and use, including widespread thinning of the blued finish to a gray patina, surface oxidation, and areas of light pitting. The wood stock displays numerous scuffs, dings, and scratches throughout but remains structurally sound without any major cracks visible. The bore was not inspected but the exterior condition suggests the potential for internal oxidation. While the bolt action appears to cycle, the safety mechanism is broken and the firearm has not been function-tested. The magazine shows finish wear and minor surface rust.
