Sold for: $35
Description
This lot comprises approximately 150 Hornady brand pistol projectiles for handloading, with a collective weight of 5.4 pounds. The group includes two boxes of jacketed hollow point bullets in different calibers. The modern red box is labeled Hornady XTP and contains 100 projectiles designated as 44 CAL, .430 inch, 240 GR HP/XTP, with item number 44200. The second item is a vintage red box marked Hornady Bullets which contains approximately 50 projectiles. The original label on this vintage container indicates 100 Pistol Bullets, 45 COLT 250 GR., .454 Hollow Point, though it is currently a partial box. The projectiles are copper-jacketed lead bullets with deep hollow point cavities. The modern XTP bullets feature the signature eXtreme Terminal Performance design with a tapered jacket and serrated nose for controlled expansion. These are component bullets only and do not include brass, powder, or primers.
Condition report:
The modern Hornady XTP box is in very good condition with minor shelf wear. The vintage box exhibits significant age-related wear, including scuffing, torn corners, and a yellow price sticker. Handwritten ink markings including 50¢ are present on the vintage lid. The projectiles in the modern box appear factory fresh, while those in the vintage box show some dulling and oxidation to the lead tips and minor discoloration on the copper jackets, typical for their age.
