Description

This lot consists of 100 rounds of Hornady Critical Defense .38 Special ammunition, contained within four factory boxes of 25 cartridges each. The ammunition features 110 grain FTX bullets, which utilize a copper jacket and a patented red polymer Flex Tip designed to prevent clogging from heavy clothing and ensure reliable expansion. The cartridges are constructed with silver-colored nickel-plated cases to provide enhanced corrosion resistance and visibility during low-light loading. Box markings identify the product as number 90310, with three boxes bearing lot number 3161251 and one box bearing lot number 3112507. A significant discrepancy is noted between the outer box labeling, which lists the load as 38 SPCL, and the physical headstamps of the cartridges, which are explicitly marked HORNADY 38 SPL +P, indicating a high-pressure loading. The packaging specifies a muzzle velocity of 1010 feet per second.

Condition report:

The ammunition appears to be in excellent, factory-original condition with no visible oxidation or corrosion on the nickel-plated cases, primers, or copper bullets. The polymer tips are intact and correctly seated. The cardboard boxes show minor shelf wear, including small rubs and softened corners, but remain structurally sound with clear, legible labeling.
