Gun Collectors Dream Auction #84 June 13th & 14th
Lot 1303:
Sold for: $60
Description
This lot consists of 100 rounds of 5.56x45mm NATO caliber ammunition, often referred to as .223/5.56 ammo, suitable for modern sporting rifles and military-pattern firearms. The cartridges are M855 ball ammunition, characterized by 62-grain copper-jacketed spitzer projectiles featuring the distinctive green painted tips that signify a steel penetrator core. The ammunition is housed in reloadable brass cases with boxer primers. Visible headstamps on the cartridges include the letters LC at the top and the digits 08 at the bottom, identifying manufacture by the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant in 2008. The rounds are loose-packed and exhibit a finish consistent with bulk military-specification production. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The ammunition appears to be in good overall condition. The brass cases show minor surface tarnishing and light oxidation consistent with bulk storage but remain structurally sound with no significant corrosion or dents. The green tip identification paint is largely intact across the projectiles. The primers are properly seated and undamaged. The ammunition appears to be live and well-maintained.
