Description
This Winchester Model 70 is a bolt-action sporting rifle chambered in .270 Winchester. The rifle is configured with a blued steel barrel and receiver mated to a durable black synthetic stock. The stock features textured panels on the pistol grip and forend, each incorporating a molded Winchester W logo, and is finished with a factory-branded polymer buttplate. A notable aesthetic and functional feature is the engine-turned jeweled finish on the bolt body. The receiver is equipped with a Simmons 8-Point 3-9x40mm telescopic sight with a duplex reticle mounted on two-piece bases. Verbatim barrel markings on the left side include — WINCHESTER ® MODEL 70 270 WIN. — MADE IN NEW HAVEN, CT. U.S.A. The left side of the receiver is marked with the serial number G 2436647 and — WINCHESTER ® — TRADEMARKS LICENSED FROM OLIN CORP. The rifle is also equipped with front and rear sling swivel studs. Condition report:
The rifle is in good overall condition, showing evidence of moderate field use. The blued finish on the barrel and receiver exhibits scattered light scuffs and minor surface scratches, with more pronounced wear near the muzzle. The synthetic stock shows several superficial scratches and handling marks but remains structurally sound with no cracks. The jeweled finish on the bolt body remains bright and attractive. The bore is bright with sharp rifling. The bolt action appears to cycle smoothly and the trigger pull is crisp, though the firearm has not been function-tested with live ammunition. The Simmons optic shows minor finish loss on the adjustment caps and exterior housing, while the glass remains clear and the reticle is intact.
