Gun Collectors Dream Auction #84 June 13th & 14th
Lot 1417:
Sold for: $65
Description
This lot consists of 100 rounds of .223 Remington ammunition manufactured by Black Hills Shooters Supply. The ammunition is organized into two blue cardboard boxes, each containing a 50-round styrofoam tray insert. The cartridges feature brass casings and copper-jacketed, pointed bullets, likely of a soft-point configuration. Box markings include Black Hills Shooters Supply, Rapid City, South Dakota, .223 Remington, 50 Cartridges, and Warning: Keep Out of Reach of Children. Verbatim headstamp markings on the casings include LC 81 and LC 82, indicating the use of repurposed Lake City Army Ammunition Plant military surplus brass manufactured in 1981 and 1982.
Condition report:
The blue cardboard boxes show significant shelf wear, including scuffing, color fading, and structural damage to the edges and corners. The ammunition\'s brass casings exhibit widespread tarnish and discoloration. Several cartridges display visible green verdigris oxidation, particularly concentrated around the silver-colored primers. The bullets remain properly seated, and the ammunition appears to be in live, unspent condition.
