Description

This lot consists of 100 rifle cartridges of Lake City M855 ball .223/5.56 ammo chambered in 5.56x45mm NATO. The ammunition is constructed with reloadable brass casings and 62-grain copper-jacketed projectiles. These projectiles feature the distinctive painted green tips identifying them as having a steel penetrator core, manufactured in accordance with military specifications for enhanced penetration. Verbatim headstamp markings found on the base of the cartridges include the manufacturer code LC for the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant, the numbers 08 indicating a 2008 production date, and the NATO cross-in-circle proof mark. The ammunition is loose-packed in a clear plastic bag and appears to be in its original, live factory configuration.

Condition report:

The ammunition is in good overall condition. The brass casings show some light surface tarnish and minor oxidation consistent with age and bulk storage, though they remain structurally sound and free of significant corrosion or verdigris. The copper-jacketed projectiles are well-seated and retain clear, identifiable green tip paint. The primers are flush and show no signs of damage or previous strikes. The rounds appear to be functional live cartridges.
