Description

This lot features a single Harrington & Richardson (H&R) 22 Special top-break revolver chambered in .22 Long Rifle. This nine-shot firearm features a 6-inch barrel and a double-action mechanism with an automatic ejection system. The steel frame and cylinder retain a portion of the original blued finish, which now exhibits significant thinning, holster wear, and a mottled gray patina with scattered surface oxidation and light pitting. The revolver is fitted with oversized, checkered walnut target-style grips that provide an ergonomic hold, showing typical handling wear and small dings. The sighting arrangement includes a pinned gold-toned front blade and an adjustable rear notch. Verbatim markings include H & R “22 SPECIAL” on the left side of the barrel, 22 LONG RIFLE CTG. on the right side, and HARRINGTON & RICHARDSON ARMS CO. WORCESTER, MASS. U.S.A. on the top rib. The serial number 585747 is stamped on the bottom of the grip frame. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.

Condition report:

The blued finish is in fair condition, showing significant wear, thinning to gray, and areas of surface oxidation and light pitting, primarily on the cylinder and frame. The bore was not fully inspected but appears to have consistent rifling with some frosting. The top-break action and latch appear to function correctly with a solid lock-up. The checkered wood target grips are in good condition, exhibiting worn checkering and various minor dings consistent with age and use.
