Description
This lot consists of a collection of eight assorted handgun grip panels crafted from various wood types, designed for several semi-automatic pistol and revolver models. The assembly includes five individual panels for semi-automatic pistols: a standard dark checkered panel; a dark wood panel featuring integral finger grooves and two mounting holes; a checkered panel with a diamond-shaped accent around the upper screw hole consistent with M1911A1 patterns; a decorative panel with light-colored rectangular and diamond-shaped wood inlays; and a checkered panel featuring a gold-toned medallion. The revolver grips include a matching pair of smooth, curved, reddish-brown wood panels with single central screw holes and one individual smooth, dark wood panel. The most prominent marking is located on the gold-toned medallion, which is embossed with the letters COLT above a rampant horse logo. These panels are sold as components only, and no mounting screws or associated hardware are included.
Condition report:
The grip panels exhibit varying degrees of wear consistent with age and practical use. Surface evidence includes scattered scratches, minor dings, and small nicks in the wood grain. The checkered sections show moderate rounding of the texture and some accumulated debris within the recesses. The smooth finish on the reddish-brown revolver grips displays handling wear and several light impact marks. Mounting holes show typical wear from previous installations, but no major structural cracks or significant losses were noted during visual inspection.
