Lot 1480:
A Lot of 100 Rounds of Hornady Superformance Varmint .17 Hornet Ammunition
Sold for: $70
Description
This lot consists of a total of 100 rounds of Hornady Superformance Varmint ammunition chambered in .17 Hornet. The ammunition features 15.5 grain NTX non-toxic projectiles with distinctive brown polymer tips designed for high-velocity performance. The cartridges are housed in four original factory boxes, each containing a 25-round plastic tray. Ballistics data printed on the packaging indicates a muzzle velocity of 3870 feet per second. Key markings on the boxes include the Hornady logo, the model designation Superformance Varmint, and the specific caliber and weight 17 HORNET 15.5 gr NTX. Verbatim transcriptions of markings include item number #83004, Lot# 3150448 on three boxes, and Lot# 3142495 on one box. The packaging also specifies trajectory data for various distances and includes the Made in the USA statement alongside a CIP M proof mark.
Condition report:
The ammunition appears to be in good, live condition overall. The brass cartridge cases show visible surface tarnishing and minor discoloration consistent with age and long-term storage, though they remain structurally sound. The polymer tips and projectiles appear securely seated. The factory cardboard boxes exhibit moderate shelf wear, including creasing, corner dings, and light scuffing, with some minor fraying at the opening flaps.
