This is a Remington Model 572 Fieldmaster pump-action rifle chambered for .22 Short, Long, and Long Rifle cartridges, featuring a tubular magazine under the barrel. The rifle is equipped with a standard 21-inch round barrel. Key markings include the model designation Remington Fieldmaster MODEL 572 and the serial number A1423395 on the left side of the receiver. Barrel markings specify Remington Arms CO. INC. ILION, N.Y. MADE IN U.S.A. along with patent numbers and the caliber designation .22 S., L., & L. R. A REP proof mark is visible on the right side of the barrel at the receiver junction. The firearm features a black-finished receiver and a blued steel barrel and magazine tube. The furniture consists of a checkered wood stock and forend, with the stock terminating in a black checkered plastic buttplate marked Remington. Sighting is provided by an adjustable rear leaf sight and a fixed blade front sight. The action appears to function smoothly, though we have not function-tested this firearm. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The metal finish on the barrel and magazine tube retains a high percentage of bluing with some thinning and minor handling marks. The receiver shows significant surface wear, extensive finish loss, and scratching consistent with regular field use. The wood stock and forend exhibit numerous dings, scratches, and impressions throughout, though no structural cracks are observed; the checkering remains well-defined despite moderate wear. The bore was not inspected. The action appears to function correctly.
