Gun Collectors Dream Auction #84 June 13th & 14th
Lot 1561:
Sold for: $75
Description
This lot consists of 148 rounds of remanufactured .223 Remington ammunition, organized into three hinged plastic ammunition cases including two blue and one green container. The rounds represent various projectile types suitable for diverse shooting applications. One blue case contains rounds with varied projectiles, including orange, red, gray, and black plastic ballistic tips. The second blue case contains primarily lead soft point projectiles. The green case contains open-tip match or hollow point bullets. All rounds utilize brass casings and appear to be high-quality centerfire hand-loads. Verbatim markings transcribed from the case lids include 24.6gr H322, .45g SP, and .223 REM on the blue case, and 26.5-748 on the green case, indicating specific propellant weights and types used in the remanufacturing process. These rounds are housed in grid-style organizers for protection and inventory.
Condition report:
The ammunition is in good overall condition, appearing live and well-maintained. The brass cases exhibit minor surface oxidation and typical dulling consistent with age and storage. Projectiles are securely seated with no visible damage to the tips. The plastic ammunition cases show light surface wear, minor scuffs, and remain fully functional with intact hinges. Several cases bear handwritten load data in permanent marker. As this is remanufactured and hand-loaded ammunition, it has not been function-tested, and consistent performance or safety cannot be guaranteed.
