Gun Collectors Dream Auction #84 June 13th & 14th
Lot 1585:
Sold for: $60
Description
This lot consists of 100 rounds of Federal American Eagle .327 Federal Magnum centerfire pistol ammunition, divided into two 50-round factory boxes. One box contains 100-grain jacketed soft point projectiles, identified by product code AE327, while the second box contains 85-grain soft point projectiles, identified by product code AE327A. Both varieties utilize brass casings with FC 327 FED MAG headstamps and are intended for use in revolvers chambered for the .327 Federal Magnum cartridge. The 100-grain jacketed soft point rounds are designed for deep penetration and controlled expansion, whereas the lighter 85-grain soft point rounds offer higher velocities and reliable performance. All cartridges are housed in their respective plastic trays within original red and black Federal American Eagle packaging. Key markings include the caliber designation 327 Federal Mag on the box fronts and sides, with the manufacturer name Federal and product line American Eagle featured prominently.
Condition report:
The ammunition appears to be in excellent, factory-original condition. The brass casings are bright and free of corrosion or significant tarnish. The lead soft point tips are intact without noticeable deformation. Primers are clean and properly seated within the primer pockets. Both cardboard boxes exhibit moderate shelf wear, including scuffing at the edges, minor corner fraying, and some surface scratches, with the older-style box for the 100-grain loads showing more pronounced wear than the more modern 85-grain box. This lot appears to be live factory ammunition.
