Description

This lot features a single Ranger Model 30 pump-action shotgun chambered in 12 gauge, a store-brand variant of the Stevens Model 620 design historically produced for retailers like Sears. The firearm is equipped with a 30-inch barrel featuring a ventilated rib and a muzzle-mounted Poly-Choke Deluxe adjustable choke system for varied shot patterns. The blued steel receiver displays the characteristic single-hump profile and houses an action that appears to function correctly. The furniture consists of a checkered wood pistol grip stock and a matching checkered forend, both displaying attractive grain and handling marks consistent with field use. The stock is fitted with a black Herter’s Olympic Model neoprene recoil pad. Verbatim markings on the receiver include the stylized RANGER logo and MODEL 30 designation. The barrel is stamped PROOF TESTED — 12 GAUGE. The serial number U107207 is clearly visible on the lower tang. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.

Condition report:

The shotgun is in overall good used condition. The blued finish on the receiver remains largely present with some thinning on the edges, while the magazine tube shows significant mechanical wear from the cycling of the action. The wood furniture is solid with various dings, scratches, and finish wear typical of its age, though the checkering remains functional. The bore appears bright and has been well-maintained. The action cycles smoothly, though we have not function-tested this firearm with live ammunition. The neoprene recoil pad shows some age-related surface cracking but remains intact.
