Description
This lot features a pair of Herter’s, Inc. full length sizing and seating dies chambered for .243 caliber. The set includes one sizing die equipped with a decapping pin and one seating die, accompanied by a small Allen wrench. Both dies are constructed from steel and feature knurled adjustment rings and locking collars for precise reloading operations. The items are housed in their original tan cardboard storage box, which displays the manufacturer’s crest and various printed markings. Verbatim markings on the box lid include HERTER’S FULL LENGTH Sizing & Seating DIES and World’s Largest Manufacturers of Quality Reloading Tools from HERTER’S, INC., Waseca, Minn., U.S.A. Since 1893. The company crest also includes the text HERTER’S SINCE 1893. One end of the box contains a handwritten .243 caliber designation in blue ink.
Condition report:
The dies exhibit a used patina with minor surface oxidation and light wear consistent with age and handling. The knurling remains well-defined and the threads appear to be in good serviceable condition. The cardboard box shows significant signs of age, including staining, edge wear, and paper loss on the end label.
