Description
This is a Winchester Model 70 Lightweight bolt action rifle chambered in .30-06 Springfield, designed as a versatile and balanced hunting firearm. The rifle features a high-polish blued finish on the barrel and receiver, complemented by a jeweled finish on the bolt body and a knurled bolt handle. Key markings on the left side of the barrel include WINCHESTER MODEL 70 CAL. 30-06 SPRG. and WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL, with the model designation Lightweight engraved in script on the top of the barrel near the receiver. The right side of the receiver is marked WINCHESTER – TRADE MARK – and bears the serial number G2007065. The firearm is mounted in a checkered walnut stock featuring a pistol grip and a red Winchester-branded recoil pad. It is equipped with a Bushnell Banner telescopic sight featuring a duplex reticle, secured by a one-piece mounting base and rings. The rifle lacks iron sights, having been configured for dedicated optic use. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The rifle is in good used condition, retaining most of its original blued finish with some light thinning at the muzzle and minor handling marks on the receiver and bolt handle. The jeweled finish on the bolt remains bright. The wood stock shows several light dings and superficial scratches consistent with field use, particularly near the toe and on the left side of the buttstock, but the checkering remains sharp. The action appears to function correctly, though we have not function-tested this firearm. The Bushnell optic provides a clear sight picture and the reticle is intact. The bore was not inspected but the exterior of the barrel is well-maintained.
