Description
This French-made side-by-side break-action shotgun is chambered in 12-gauge and features 27.5 inch blued barrels. The firearm utilizes a boxlock action with dual triggers, a top lever release, and a tang-mounted manual safety. The blued barrels are joined by a solid rib with a single brass bead front sight and are marked on the flats with the serial number 1783, a bore diameter of 18.2, and chamber lengths of 65, which is approximately 2 1/2 inches. Additional markings include the St. Etienne proof marks and the text CANON DE SURETE. A small import mark for ACF Greensboro GA is present on the underside of the barrel rib. The receiver water table also bears the serial number 1783 and a PT proof under a crown. The shotgun is fitted with a checkered wood stock featuring a semi-pistol grip and a cheekpiece, complemented by a matching checkered wood forend. The firearm is equipped with sling swivels and a serrated buttplate. Included with the shotgun is a brown faux-leather or vinyl soft-sided carrying case. We have not function-tested this firearm; however, the action appears to operate correctly. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The metal surfaces show moderate wear with a thinning blued finish and scattered surface oxidation and light pitting throughout the length of the barrels and on the receiver. The wood stock and forend exhibit nicks, scratches, and finish wear consistent with field use, though the checkering remains generally distinct with some smoothing. The action appears to lock up tightly with the barrels. The accompanying carrying case shows moderate external wear and scuffing to the synthetic material.
