Gun Collectors Dream Auction #84 June 13th & 14th
Lot 208:
Description
This lot consists of 166 rounds of remanufactured ammunition chambered in .22-250 Remington and .22-250 Ackley Improved. The collection includes a variety of projectile configurations such as 55 grain match hollow points and red polymer tipped bullets. The .22-250 Ackley Improved rounds are identifiable by their characteristic 40 degree shoulder profile, distinct from the standard Remington taper. Case headstamps include R-P 22-250 REM and W-W SUPER 22-250 REM, identifying the use of Remington and Winchester brass. Handwritten labels on the containers provide internal load data, specifying the use of Varget powder. The rounds are organized across three plastic boxes and a two section metal tray. Some cases show visible discoloration at the shoulder and neck consistent with the annealing process.
Condition report:
The brass cases exhibit varying degrees of surface tarnish and light oxidation. Discoloration from neck annealing is visible on several rounds. Projectiles show minor surface oxidation on the copper jackets. The plastic and metal storage containers show light wear and handwritten data but remain in usable condition. As these are remanufactured handloads, they should be inspected by a competent professional prior to any attempt at use.
