Lot 230:
Lee Precision Three-Die Reloading Set for .38 S&W and .38 Colt New Police
Sold for: $25
Description
This Lee Precision three-die reloading set is configured for .38 S&W and .38 Colt New Police calibers and is contained within a signature red translucent plastic cylindrical storage container. The assembly includes three steel reloading dies, one steel shell holder, and a yellow plastic powder scoop. An internal paper label identifies the set as featuring a Powder Through Expander Die For The LEE AUTO DISK POWDER MEASURE and bears the code CD1707. Verbatim markings found on the individual components include LEE – 38 S&W on the bullet seating die, while the sizing die is stamped 38AUTO and LE, and the expander die bears the mark K7 on its knurled collar. The set is designed to permit charging the case while simultaneously expanding and flaring the case mouth when used with a Lee Powder Funnel or Auto Disk Powder Measure. All components show signs of previous use and bench storage typical of secondhand reloading equipment.
Condition report:
The steel components, including the three dies and shell holder, exhibit visible surface oxidation and localized light rust, primarily on the adjustment nuts and knurled exterior surfaces. The internal die cavities appear well-maintained and free of significant pitting. The yellow plastic powder scoop is intact and functional. The red plastic container and its screw-on lid show minor surface scuffing and scratches from handling but remain structurally sound with a clear and legible interior label.
