Description
This lot features three M2A1 military-style metal ammunition cans manufactured by Standard Container Fabricators. Each container is constructed from heavy-gauge steel and features a side-swinging latch and a top-mounted folding handle. The lids are fitted with rubber gaskets designed to provide a moisture-resistant seal when closed. The top can displays a dark green finish with yellow stenciled markings indicating 200 CARTRIDGES, 7.62 MM, M13, CARTONS, 1 M62-4 M80, and the lot number LC-89E601L607. The bottom left can is finished in a similar shade with white stenciled text denoting 1110 CTGS, 5.56MM BLANK, M200, CARTONS, and the lot number LC 84D023 115. The bottom right can is finished in olive drab and features embossed characters including 10, M2A1, and S.C.F. markings on the side wall. All three units include the S.C.F. manufacturer mark embossed into the metal. These cans are sold empty and contain no ammunition.
Condition report:
The ammunition cans are in good used condition with evidence of field handling. The exterior finishes show scratches, scuffs, and areas of paint wear throughout. Minor surface oxidation is present on the latches and hinges, though the metal remains structurally sound. The stenciling on the top can is mostly intact and legible, while the markings on the 5.56mm can are faded but discernible. The seals appear to be in good condition, and the latching mechanisms function as intended.
