Description
This Mossberg Model 500A is a pump-action shotgun chambered for 12 gauge, featuring a 28-inch blued barrel with a ventilated rib and a modified Accu-Choke. The sighting plane is equipped with a brass mid-bead and a white front bead. The aluminum receiver features a black anodized finish that has transitioned to a characteristic purple hue over time and is decorated with scrollwork engravings on both sides. Verbatim markings on the underside of the receiver include Mossberg MADE IN USA NORTH HAVEN, CONN 500A 12 GA, and the serial number L782975 is present on the left side. The barrel is marked CHAMBERED FOR 2 3/4 AND 3 IN. SHELLS and -12 GA. – 28 IN. ACCU-CHOKE -. The firearm is fitted with a checkered wood stock and forend in a high-gloss finish, a gold-toned trigger, and a tang-mounted safety. It is completed with a ventilated brown rubber recoil pad. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The shotgun is in good used condition. The barrel bluing is mostly intact with minor handling wear. The receiver finish shows a purple tint common with age and a small area of residue or finish marring on the rear left side. The bore is bright. The action appears to function correctly, though it has not been function-tested. The wood stock and forend show minor surface scratches and indentations consistent with field use but retain a high-gloss appearance.
