Description

This Remington Model 11 The Sportsman semi-automatic shotgun is chambered in 12 gauge and was originally configured for field use. It features a 29.5 inch barrel with a fixed full choke and a single brass bead front sight. Key markings include the model designation THE SPORTSMAN on the bolt and the Remington name, REG.U.S.PAT.OFF. registration, and serial number 808293 on the left side of the receiver. The receiver is decorated with roll-stamped game scenes depicting a duck on the left and a pheasant on the right. Barrel markings specify 12 GA. and FULL near the breech, alongside an REP proof mark in an oval. The top of the barrel is stamped with Remington Arms Co., Inc. manufacturer information and several Browning patent dates ranging from OCT. 9, 1900 to FEB. 13, 06. The furniture consists of a checkered walnut pistol grip stock and matching forend, finished with a black plastic Remington buttplate. This lot is explicitly sold as a parts gun because the barrel has a bulge close to the muzzle end. This firearm is considered unsafe to fire in its current condition and is intended for repair or component recovery only. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.

Condition report:

The shotgun exhibits signs of heavy field use and is in poor overall condition due to significant mechanical damage. The blued finish shows substantial thinning throughout, with widespread surface oxidation and pitting on the barrel and receiver. The bore condition was not examined internally, but the exterior of the barrel features a prominent bulge near the muzzle which compromises its structural integrity. The walnut stock and forend show numerous dings, scratches, and wear to the checkering. The action appears to function mechanically, but we have not function-tested this firearm and strongly advise against firing it.
