Description
This Marlin Model 17VS is a bolt-action rimfire rifle chambered for the high-velocity .17 H.M.R. cartridge, featuring a heavy stainless steel varmint barrel for enhanced accuracy. The barrel measures 22 inches and is finished in a matte stainless steel, matching the receiver which is factory-grooved for mounting optics. This model is not equipped with iron sights. It is mounted in a grey-and-black laminated wood stock featuring a Monte Carlo comb and a black rubber buttplate embossed with the Marlin rider logo. The rifle includes a single nickel-finished detachable box magazine and has a silver-tone trigger guard. Prominent markings on the barrel include THE MARLIN FIREARMS CO. NORTH HAVEN. CT. U.S.A. and ***** MODEL 17VS CAL. .17 H.M.R. *****. The left side of the receiver is stamped with the serial number 98674134. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The stainless steel finish exhibits scattered spots of minor surface oxidation and freckling on the barrel, receiver, and bolt handle. The grey-and-black laminated wood stock is in good overall condition with only light handling marks and no significant dings or scratches. The action appears to function smoothly, and the detachable magazine is present. The bore was not inspected, but the exterior suggests the rifle has been well-maintained despite the minor surface freckling.
