Description
This Wards Western Field Model No. 46-CS is a bolt-action rifle chambered for .22 Short, Long, or Long Rifle cartridges. The firearm features a blued metal finish on the barrel and receiver paired with a one-piece wood stock that includes a semi-pistol grip and a decorative diamond-shaped checkered panel on the forend. Key markings on the barrel specify Wards Western Field and NO. 46-CS 22 S-L-LR PAT. PEND. The rifle is equipped with an adjustable rear leaf sight and a fixed front blade sight along with front and rear sling swivels. Notably, this firearm is missing its magazine and the magazine well remains empty. The action appears to function correctly, although we have not function-tested this firearm. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The metal components retain a moderate amount of bluing with visible thinning and surface oxidation throughout, particularly on the receiver, bolt handle, and metal buttplate. The wood stock shows numerous dings, scratches, and small compressions consistent with age and field use. The action cycles smoothly and the trigger appears functional. The bore was not inspected.
