Gun Collectors Dream Auction #84 June 13th & 14th
Lot 304:
Description
This lot consists of 100 rifle cartridges chambered in 5.56x45mm NATO, a caliber often designated as .223/5.56 ammo. The rounds feature bottlenecked brass cases loaded with copper-jacketed spitzer-style projectiles, consistent with military-grade ball ammunition specifications. Verbatim headstamp markings on the cartridge bases include LC at the twelve o’clock position and 08 or 09 at the six o’clock position, identifying the manufacturer as the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant and the production years as 2008 and 2009. The ammunition is bulk-packed in a transparent plastic zip-top bag and represents surplus production from a known military contractor.
Condition report:
The ammunition is in used but stable condition. The brass cases exhibit typical surface tarnish and some light oxidation from storage, but they remain structurally sound. The copper jackets on the spitzer bullets are intact with no major corrosion noted. All primers are seated and appear unfired. The ammunition is presented as live.
