Description
An RCBS RS5 Reloader Special-5 single-stage reloading press featuring a heavy-duty cast iron O-frame construction. The unit is finished in the signature RCBS green hammer-tone paint and is designed for standard 7/8 inch-14 threaded dies. It is equipped with a compound linkage system and a long steel operating lever terminating in a black plastic spherical handle. This press includes an installed reloading die in the top station, a shell holder secured to the ram, and two steel mounting bolts with washers and nuts currently attached to the base flange. Key markings include the model designation RS5 cast into the top horizontal section of the frame and the manufacturer name RCBS cast into the vertical side of the frame. The press shows evidence of significant surface oxidation on the unpainted steel components.
Condition report:
The cast iron frame retains a majority of its original green hammer-tone finish with some scattered chips, light wear, and accumulated dust. Significant surface rust and pitting are present on the operating handle, the black-finished linkage bars, and the exterior of the installed die. The ram and shell holder also show signs of oxidation and dried lubricant. While the linkage appears intact, the action has not been function-tested and would benefit from cleaning and lubrication.
