Gun Collectors Dream Auction #84 June 13th & 14th
Lot 448:
Sold for: $110
Description
This lot consists of a total of 154 cartridges of .22-250 Remington caliber ammunition housed in three separate plastic storage boxes. The collection includes a blue translucent Midway box containing 51 rounds with copper-jacketed hollow point projectiles, a teal translucent MTM Case-Gard box containing 50 rounds with copper-jacketed soft point projectiles, and a red translucent Midway box containing 53 rounds with orange polymer-tipped projectiles. One round in the red box is seated in a nickel-plated casing, while the remaining 153 rounds feature standard brass cases. The ammunition appears to be hand-loaded, as indicated by the varied projectile types and detailed load data handwritten on the interior lids of the containers. Verbatim markings embossed on the box lids include MIDWAY and MTM CASE-GARD 50. Handwritten notations on the lids provide technical data such as 22/250, 30 gr HP, 29 gr DuPont 3031, 55 gr SP, and 50 gr BT. The brass cases show varying degrees of natural oxidation and tarnish consistent with age and storage.
Condition report:
The ammunition is in good overall condition. The brass cartridge cases exhibit a natural patina with some surface tarnish and light oxidation across the lot. The projectiles appear to be securely seated, and the orange polymer tips are intact. One nickel-plated case is present in the red box and shows minimal wear. The ammunition appears to be live and functional. The plastic storage boxes are in good condition with functional hinges and latches, showing only minor surface scuffing from handling.
