Gun Collectors Dream Auction #84 June 13th & 14th
Lot 487:
Sold for: $45
Description
This lot consists of 550 empty, once-fired brass centerfire rifle cartridge casings, primarily identified as .223 caliber with significant .30-06 Springfield examples present. The collection is distributed among twelve clear plastic zip-top bags. Key markings transcribed verbatim from the case bases include 30-06 SPRG, R-P, FC, W-W SUPER, and LC 90, indicating manufacture by Remington-Peters, Federal Cartridge, Winchester-Western, and the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant in 1990. The casings are in fired condition with spent primers still seated and exhibit varying degrees of surface tarnishing, oxidation, and residue typical of once-fired brass. Some casings are noted as being primed. One bag is identified with a white label bearing the number 44695. These components are intended for reloading or salvage and have not been cleaned or processed.
Condition report:
The brass casings are in fired, uncleaned condition. Most cases retain their spent primers. Physical condition shows typical range wear, including surface tarnishing and light oxidation. The cases appear generally intact without obvious crushing or neck splits, although individual inspection by the reloader is required for safety. The items are inert, consisting of empty brass without powder or projectiles.
