Description
This lot features a pair of metal canisters of IMR 4895 smokeless rifle powder containing a total weight of 1 Lb 5 Oz of powder. The rectangular cans are finished in a purple coating with red screw-on caps. Verbatim markings on the face of the cans include the IMR logo and the text IMR 4895 SMOKELESS POWDER above a DANGER! EXTREMELY FLAMMABLE warning. One can includes the additional line Formerly Supplied by DuPont and a weight of NET WT. 16 OZ. (1 LB) whereas the other designates NET WT. 1 LB. (454 g). The reverse of each can displays a Handloader’s Guide graphic alongside extensive safety warnings and contact information for the IMR POWDER COMPANY of PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. 12901 noting they were MANUFACTURED IN CANADA.
Condition report:
Both canisters show signs of age and shelf wear including surface scuffs, light scratches to the finish, and minor oxidation along the top and bottom metal rims. The labels remain largely intact and legible with minor staining and edge wear. The red plastic caps are present and show light scuffing. Per provided data the total weight of the remaining powder is 1 Lb 5 Oz.
