Description
This Winchester Model 70 is a bolt action sporting rifle chambered in .270 Winchester. It features a barrel and receiver finished in a matte black, with the bolt body displaying a jeweled or engine-turned finish. The rifle is mounted in a black synthetic stock that includes textured checkered panels on the pistol grip and forend, with an embossed W logo on the forend. It is equipped with a Simmons 8-Point variable power scope featuring a duplex reticle, mounted on two-piece bases, and includes front and rear sling swivel studs. The buttstock is fitted with a black rubber recoil pad. Key markings transcribed from the firearm include WINCHESTER MODEL 70 270 WIN. and MADE IN NEW HAVEN, CT U.S.A. on the left side of the barrel, the serial number G2312929 on the receiver, and WINCHESTER -TRADE MARK- on the receiver bridge. Condition report:
The rifle is in good used condition. The matte black finish on the metal surfaces shows light surface scratches and minor thinning on the barrel and receiver. The bolt action appears to function correctly and the jeweling remains bright. The black synthetic stock exhibits light handling marks and scuffing consistent with regular use. The Simmons scope has clear optics and the duplex reticle is intact. The bore was not inspected but the overall exterior condition suggests the firearm has been well maintained.
