Lot 109:
A Lot of 140 Rounds of Russian M1895 Nagant Revolver Ammunition 7.62mm
Sold for: $160
Description
A lot of 140 rounds of Russian 7.62mm Nagant revolver ammunition, specifically chambered for the M1895 Nagant gas-seal revolver. This collection comprises ten original cardboard boxes, with each individual box containing 14 cartridges. The 7.62x38mmR caliber is uniquely identifiable by its recessed projectile, which is seated entirely within the brass case to facilitate the gas-seal system of the Nagant revolver. The face of each box features black printed Cyrillic text that translates to REVOLVER CARTRIDGES caliber 7.62 mm 14 pcs. (РЕВОЛЬВЕРНЫЕ ПАТРОНЫ калибра 7,62 мм 14 шт.). The lot includes seven boxes of a tan or brown cardboard construction and three boxes of a lighter gray-tan variety. The boxes remain closed and are consistent with Soviet-era military or police production standards.
Condition report:
The ammunition boxes are in good vintage condition, exhibiting typical signs of shelf wear such as softened corners, light edge fraying, and minor surface discoloration consistent with long-term storage. The cardboard remains structurally sound across all ten boxes, and the printed Cyrillic markings remain dark and legible. There is no evidence of moisture damage or significant structural degradation. While the cartridges themselves have not been individually inspected, the sealed or closed nature of the boxes suggests the contents remain in their original live state.
