Description

This lot consists of a collection of 98 rounds of Soviet 7.62x38mmR Nagant revolver ammunition housed in seven original cardboard boxes. These cartridges were designed for use in the M1895 Nagant revolver, a mainstay of the Soviet military during the first half of the 20th century. Each tan cardboard box contains 14 rounds and features black ink-stamped Cyrillic text on the front face. The markings are transcribed verbatim as РЕВОЛЬВЕРНЫЕ ПАТРОНЫ on the top line, калибра 7,62 мм on the middle line, and 14 шт. on the bottom line, which translates to Revolver Cartridges, caliber 7.62mm, and 14 pieces. The boxes are constructed from heavy cardstock with stapled side seams, consistent with standard military packaging from the WWII era. No individual cartridges were removed for inspection, and the collection is sold as seven intact boxes totaling the specified 98 rounds. This lot represents a complete group of period-correct ammunition for the Nagant service revolver.

Condition report:

The seven cardboard boxes exhibit moderate shelf wear consistent with age, including fraying at the corners, minor surface staining, and general toning of the paper stock. The black stamped markings remain sharp and easily legible on all boxes. The boxes appear to be in their original configuration and have not been crushed or heavily damaged. While the individual cartridges were not inspected for internal corrosion or primer condition, the exterior of the packaging suggests they have been stored in a dry environment. The ammunition is presumed to be live and in good vintage condition.
