Lot 139:
A Lot of 60 Rounds of .30-06 Springfield Ammunition on Stripper Clips with Bandolier
Sold for: $55
Description
This lot consists of 60 rounds of .30-06 Springfield (.30-06 SPRG) ammunition on clips, organized within a six-pocket tan cotton canvas military-style bandolier. The ammunition is distributed across twelve five-round stripper clips, with some clips housed in three cardboard protective boxes inserted into the pockets. The cartridges feature brass casings and pointed copper-jacketed spitzer bullets. The bandolier includes an integral shoulder strap for carry. No prominent markings, manufacturer names, or dates are visible on the bandolier, clips, or ammunition. The configuration and materials are characteristic of mid-20th century military rifle ammunition.
Condition report:
The ammunition is in good condition, with the brass cartridge cases exhibiting various degrees of tarnish and light surface oxidation. The copper-jacketed bullets remain generally clean with minor surface wear. The tan cotton canvas bandolier is structurally sound, showing light fraying at the edges, minor surface soiling, and fading consistent with age and storage. The cardboard insert boxes show wear, rubbing, and soft corners. The ammunition appears to be live; however, it has not been function-tested.
