Description
This Russian Izhevsk M44 Mosin-Nagant bolt action carbine is chambered in 7.62x54R and configured for military service. It features a 20.25-inch barrel equipped with an integral side-folding spike bayonet and a hooded post front sight. The metal components exhibit a blued finish, and the bolt assembly remains in the white. The carbine is mounted in a glossy-finished wood stock with a straight wrist, finger grooves, and a steel buttplate. A standard tangent rear sight graduated to 1,000 meters is present, along with a cleaning rod and a canvas sling with leather attachment collars. Key markings include the Izhevsk arsenal symbol of a hammer and sickle within a wreath on the barrel shank, followed by the date 1945r and the serial number PT4423. The serial number PT4423 is also stamped on the bolt handle and the buttplate. An import mark on the left side of the receiver reads M44 RUSSIAN 7.62X54R C.A.I. GEORGIA VT. M44062448. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The carbine is in good overall condition. The blued finish on the metal components shows thinning and light wear concentrated on the barrel bands, receiver, and magazine floorplate. The wood stock retains a glossy finish with various small dings, scratches, and scuffs consistent with military service. The bore condition was not inspected. The action appears to function correctly, though we have not function-tested this firearm.
