Lot 176:
Sold for: $25
Description
A collection of Three ammunition pouches, configured as three double-compartment units, appearing in the style of Soviet Russian Mosin Nagant 91/30 field gear. Each unit is constructed with dark brown pebbled leather bodies and reinforced with smooth, light brown leather side gussets. The closure system consists of distinctive Y-shaped smooth leather straps that secure to brass-toned metal studs located at the bottom of each compartment. The top flaps are hinged and reinforced with two silver-colored metal rivets. This style of equipment was manufactured extensively in the Soviet Union and was frequently utilized as captured gear by various forces during the mid-20th century. No manufacturer stamps, dates, or military acceptance marks are visible on the exterior surfaces. Each double-pouch unit bears a white paper inventory label with the handwritten number 13052.
Condition report:
The pouches are in good overall condition. The pebbled leather remains well-defined and retains its texture. Visible surface wear and scuffing are present on the edges of the smooth leather components and gussets. The fastening straps show minor surface cracking consistent with age and previous service use. The structural stitching appears largely intact across all units. There is light oxidation visible on the metal rivets and brass studs. One fastening strap on the uppermost unit is currently unfastened but remains attached.
