Description

This lot consists of 90 rounds of 8mm Mauser rifle ammunition, featuring 1939-dated Greek military surplus. The collection includes four original cardboard boxes, each printed with French text indicating 15 cartridges of 7.9mm Mauser ammunition with balle SS heavy ball projectiles. The brass-cased cartridges in these boxes bear headstamps marked P, C, H, and 39, identifying them as products of the Poudrerie de la Cartoucherie Hellénique, and are topped with copper-jacketed spitzer bullets. Also included is a fifth, heavily taped cardboard box containing lacquered steel-cased cartridges with factory code 22 and date 74 headstamps and red primer sealant. The total quantity for the lot is 90 rounds.

Condition report:

The ammunition is in good surplus condition. The brass cases show minor surface oxidation and a natural aged patina, while the steel-cased cartridges retain their green lacquer finish. The cardboard packaging exhibits moderate shelf wear, including staining, edge fraying, and some tape reinforcement on the plain box. The ammunition appears to be live but has not been function-tested.
