Description
This is a single Swiss Schmidt-Rubin Model 1911 straight-pull bolt-action rifle chambered in 7.5x55mm Swiss. The rifle is configured as a standard infantry weapon with a full-length walnut stock and blued metal finish. Technical specifications include a distinctive straight-pull bolt with a ring-shaped cocking handle and red Bakelite knobs, a 30.7 inch barrel, and a tangent rear sight graduated to 2,000 meters. Key markings include the matching serial number 316239 on the receiver and barrel shank, with a P mark on the receiver indicating it was released for private purchase from military service. The barrel and receiver junction bear several Swiss proof marks, including a cross over M in a rectangle, a B, and a cross over B. The left side of the buttstock is stamped with the number 50102 and a circular cartouche containing the word SOLOTHURN. A leather cheek patch is fastened to the stock with ten metal studs, appearing as a wrap-around addition to the comb. The detachable box magazine bears a non-matching serial number 413786. The rifle is equipped with a brass muzzle cap and features a ring-shaped cocking handle. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The blued finish on the metal components shows moderate thinning and wear, especially on high edges and the barrel, with scattered areas of light surface oxidation. The full-length wood stock exhibits numerous dings, scratches, and handling marks consistent with military use, though it remains structurally sound. The leather cheek patch shows some wear but remains securely attached. The bore condition is not fully visible but the action appears to function correctly, though we have not function-tested this firearm.
