Description

This lot consists of two original cardboard boxes of Greek military surplus ammunition manufactured by the Hellenic Cartridge Company, designated by the HXP headstamp. Each box is labeled for a capacity of 48 cartridges, for a total count of 96 rounds of .303 British caliber ammunition. The ammunition is configured with the MK7Z designation, utilizing a spitzer-style copper-jacketed projectile and nitrocellulose smokeless propellant. The cartridges feature brass cases with rimmed bases. In the single open box, 24 rounds are visible in the top layer, arranged in two staggered rows of twelve with alternating orientations. Prominent markings on the exterior of the boxes include 48 ΦΥΣΙΓΓΙΑ, ΔΙΑΜΕΤΡΗΜΑΤΟΣ 0.303, ΚΟΙΝΗΣ ΒΟΛΙΔΟΣ MK7Z, ΕΙΣ ΚΥΤΙΑ, ΜΕΡΙΣ-42, and HXP-75. The HXP-75 marking identifies the manufacturer and indicates a production date of 1975. The packaging is constructed of heavy brown cardboard with black printed Greek text.

Condition report:

The ammunition is in overall excellent condition, appearing well-preserved with clean brass cases and no visible signs of corrosion or oxidation. The copper-jacketed projectiles are seated correctly. The cardboard boxes show typical signs of shelf wear and age, including minor fraying, edge wear, and small tears on the closure flaps, though the printed text remains bold and fully legible. The ammunition appears to be live and original to the packaging.
