Description

A collection of tigerstripe camouflage apparel and associated insignia in the style of gear used by United States special operations units during the Vietnam War. The set includes a long-sleeved combat shirt, matching trousers, a boonie hat, and two morale patches. The uniform components are rendered in a tigerstripe pattern, similar to the Gold or Tadpole Sparse variants, featuring high-contrast black, olive green, and yellowish-tan tones. The combat shirt is designed with two chest pockets. The trousers feature a button fly and side waist adjustment tabs with metal buckles. The short-brimmed boonie hat includes multi-row decorative stitching, side ventilation grommets, and intentional fraying at the edge of the brim.

The lot also contains two machine-embroidered patches. One patch features a white field with a red arc containing the text FUCK COMMUNISM above a Confederate battle flag motif overlaid with a black M16 rifle silhouette. The second patch is a unit insignia for RT NEW JERSEY CCN RECON, representing a reconnaissance team within the Command and Control North (CCN) of MACV-SOG (Military Assistance Command, Vietnam – Studies and Observations Group). This shield-shaped patch depicts a white skull pierced by a dagger against a blue and red mountain landscape, with the red characters 美, 望, 小, 組 embroidered at the bottom. The absence of official military contract labels or manufacturer marks suggests these items are high-quality contemporary reproductions produced for the collector or reenactor market.

Condition report:

The items are in very good, lightly used condition. The camouflage print shows minimal fading and remains vibrant. The fraying on the boonie hat brim appears to be an intentional stylistic feature. No significant holes, tears, or structural damage are visible.
