Description

This is a Soviet Mosin-Nagant Model 1891/30 bolt-action rifle chambered in 7.62x54R, a quintessential example of World War II-era infantry weaponry. The rifle is configured with a round receiver and a standard length barrel featuring a hooded post front sight and a tangent rear sight graduated to 2,000 meters. The metal components exhibit a blued finish, while the bolt assembly is finished in polished steel. The wooden stock is finished with a reddish-brown shellac and includes a straight-grip profile, steel buttplate, and a visible square-with-diagonal-line refurbishment mark on the right side of the buttstock. Key markings on the barrel shank include the Tula Arsenal star containing an arrow, the manufacturing date 1939, and the serial number BM 7442. The right side of the receiver bears import markings from Century Arms International which read M91/30 RUSSIA 7.62 X 54R, C.A.I. GEORGIA VT., and 9130246337. The rifle comes equipped with a canvas and leather sling, an under-barrel cleaning rod, and a separate two-cell brown pebbled-leather ammunition pouch. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.

Condition report:

The rifle is in good refurbished condition, consistent with its age and military history. The arsenal-applied blued finish is largely intact, showing light handling wear and minor thinning at the muzzle and high points of the receiver. The polished bolt is bright with minimal signs of surface oxidation. The wooden stock shows typical dings, scratches, and abrasions from storage and use, with the shellac finish showing some localized flaking. The bore is not clearly visible but is expected to show standard wear for military surplus; the bolt action appears to function smoothly, although we have not function-tested this firearm. The canvas sling and leather ammunition pouch show moderate service wear but remain structurally sound.
