Description

This lot features a collection of four 20-round steel box magazines for the M14 and M1A rifle platforms, chambered in 7.62x51mm NATO or .308 Winchester. Key markings include the Springfield Armory ordnance crest stamped on the lower rear spine of two magazines, featuring the crossed cannons and transcribed text SPRINGFIELD ARMORY and SINCE 1794. The other two magazines in the lot are unmarked. The magazines are finished in two styles of Parkerizing: three have a traditional dark gray finish, while one has a lighter, weathered gray finish. Each magazine is equipped with a steel follower and a standard detachable floorplate. These magazines reflect the standard specifications for M14-pattern rifles used in both military and civilian contexts.

Condition report:

The magazines show varying degrees of use and wear. The dark Parkerized finish exhibits typical insertion marks, scratches, and finish thinning consistent with regular use. The lighter gray magazine shows visible surface oxidation and moderate discoloration across the body. The internal springs remain strong and the metal followers appear to function correctly under tension, though the lot has not been function-tested in a rifle. Feed lips are generally straight with no evidence of significant structural damage.
