Description

This Soviet Nagant M1895 is a double-action service revolver chambered in the unique 7.62x38mmR gas-seal cartridge. It features a 4.5-inch round barrel with fixed front and rear sights. The revolver is constructed from blued steel and retains its signature seven-shot cylinder that moves forward upon cocking to create a gas seal with the barrel. The frame is fitted with two-piece checkered wood grips and includes a lanyard ring at the base of the grip frame. Key markings include the Izhevsk Arsenal proof on the left side of the frame, consisting of a triangle containing an upward-pointing arrow with a circle at the base, situated above the manufacture date 1943г. The serial number Ж3531 is stamped on the front left of the frame. Small Soviet proof marks, including stars and letters in circles, are found on various components such as the hammer, trigger, and frame. A partial import stamp for Century Arms International, marked CAI, is visible on the left side of the barrel near the muzzle. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.

Condition report:

The blued steel finish shows moderate thinning and edge wear consistent with military service use, particularly on the barrel, cylinder, and frame edges. The bore is bright with well-defined rifling. The action appears to function correctly, with the cylinder advancing and moving forward as designed for the gas-seal system, although we have not function-tested this firearm. The checkered wood grips remain solid and intact, showing typical handling dings and surface wear but no major cracks or chips.
