Description

This is a Springfield Armory M1 Garand semi-automatic rifle chambered in .30-06 Springfield, configured for standard military service. The rifle features a 24 inch barrel and the iconic gas-operated, clip-fed action. The metal components exhibit a Parkerized finish with a characteristic light grey finish on the gas cylinder. The furniture consists of a two-piece walnut wood stock and handguards featuring front and rear sling swivels and a checkered steel buttplate with a storage compartment door. The rifle is equipped with standard military aperture rear and blade front sights. Key markings include the receiver heel designation U.S. RIFLE / CAL. .30 M1 / SPRINGFIELD / ARMORY and the serial number 2245128. The barrel, visible through the operating rod cutout, is marked 3-S A 3 44, indicating a Springfield Armory production date of March 1944. The stock exhibits a faint circular cartouche on the left side of the buttstock, a circled P proof mark on the pistol grip area, and the characters U / 4 stamped on the underside of the forearm. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.

Condition report:

The metal surfaces retain a fair portion of their Parkerized finish with noticeable thinning, wear on high points, and areas of surface oxidation consistent with military field use. The walnut stock and handguards show significant handling marks, including dings, scratches, and impact marks throughout. The gas cylinder shows characteristic wear to its light grey finish. The action appears to function correctly when cycled manually, though we have not function-tested this firearm. The bore was not internally inspected.
