Description
This Astra Model 600/43 is a semi-automatic pistol chambered for 9mm Parabellum, specifically produced as part of a secondary contract for the German military during the Second World War. The firearm features a 5.3 inch barrel housed within a distinctive blowback-operated slide and cylindrical barrel shroud. The exterior displays a high-polish blued finish and is fitted with checkered walnut grip panels. Key markings include the manufacturer and location on the slide top, transcribed as UNCETA Y COMPAÑIA S.A. and GUERNICA ESPAÑA, with the circular ASTRA sunburst logo stamped on the front of the shroud. The barrel chamber is marked PIST.PATR.08 with a Spanish proof. Matching serial numbers 7101 are located on the right side of both the slide and the frame. The right rear of the frame bears a clear German military Waffenamt proof consisting of an eagle over WaA629. Several Spanish Eibar proof house marks are present on the left side, including a knight’s helmet over a shield and a crown over P in a circle. The pistol includes one blued steel magazine featuring seven witness holes. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The pistol is in very good condition, retaining approximately 95% of its original blued finish with minor thinning and silvering on the high edges and the muzzle. The checkered wood grips are well-preserved with sharp texture and no cracks or significant bruising. The bore is bright with strong, defined rifling and no visible pitting. The action appears to function correctly and locks back securely. All proof marks and stampings remain deep and highly legible.
