Gun Collectors Dream Auction #85 Weapons of War July 18th 10AM CST
Lot 367:
Sold for: $160
Description
This lot comprises 250 rounds of 9mm Largo ammunition produced by the Fábrica Nacional de Armas de Toledo in Spain. The ammunition is distributed across ten individual cardboard boxes, each originally containing 25 rounds. The cartridges feature brass casings and full metal jacket projectiles, organized within internal cardboard grids. Each box displays a distinctive red and yellow horizontal label identifying the manufacturer and caliber, with text stating the ammunition is intended for use in pistols or submachine guns (para pistola o sub-fusil). A purple ink stamp on the labels identifies the production year as 1962. Verbatim markings on the labels include Fábrica Nacional de Armas de Toledo and 9 mm. largo. Individual cartridge headstamps are marked with a T at the 12 o’clock position and 62 at the 6 o’clock position, signifying the manufacturing plant and the 1962 production date.
Condition report:
The cardboard boxes show age-related wear, including shelf wear, light staining, and some tearing or detachment of the paper labels. One box bears a handwritten number 25. The ammunition appears to be in good surplus condition; the brass cases exhibit a natural patina and light tarnish consistent with their age, while the full metal jacket projectiles remain securely seated. The primers appear intact and unspent. No significant corrosion or moisture damage is observed on the visible cartridges.
