Lot 381:
Mauser Wehrmannsgewehr Bolt Action Target Rifle 8.15x46R
Sold for: $625
Description
This is a German Wehrmannsgewehr target rifle built on a large-ring Mauser 98 pattern bolt action and chambered for the 8.15x46R cartridge. The rifle is configured with a full-length wood stock featuring a prominent finger groove, a semi-pistol grip, and a flat steel buttplate. It is equipped with a specialized target rear tangent sight with protective ears, graduated from 2 to 20, and a front blade sight on a ramp. The receiver ring is stamped with an interlaced monogram of the letters S and A. Verbatim markings include 8,15×46 Norm on the top of the barrel. The serial number 932 is stamped on the left side of the barrel and receiver, while the buttplate bears the number 7617. The rifle retains its under-barrel cleaning rod and features a turned-down bolt handle and standard three-position safety. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The blued finish shows significant thinning and wear, having transitioned to a brown patina with scattered light surface oxidation and pitting visible on the barrel and bottom metal. The wooden stock exhibits numerous scratches, dings, and handling marks consistent with service use but remains solid. The action appears to function correctly, though we have not function-tested this firearm. The bore was not inspected.
