Description

This Springfield Armory M1 Garand is a semi-automatic, gas-operated service rifle chambered in .30-06 Springfield. The rifle features a standard 24 inch barrel with a two-slot gas cylinder and a Parkerized metal finish. The receiver heel is stamped with the characters U.S. RIFLE / CAL. .30 M1 / SPRINGFIELD / ARMORY over the serial number 3530123, indicating a manufacture date of approximately March 1945. The barrel, visible through the operating rod slot, is a post-war replacement marked S-A-2-52 along with a P proof mark, signifying it was re-barreled in February 1952. The bolt is marked D28287-19SA over B3. The rifle is stocked in walnut with a steel buttplate containing a trapdoor for storage. It is equipped with a military-style adjustable aperture rear sight and a front blade sight protected by wings. Front, middle, and rear sling swivels are present. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.

Condition report:

The rifle is in good military surplus condition. The Parkerized finish shows moderate wear and thinning, particularly on the gas cylinder, muzzle, and operating rod, with scattered light surface oxidation. The walnut stock displays numerous dings, scratches, and darkened areas from handling and service use, but no major cracks are visually evident. The action appears to function correctly when cycled manually, though we have not function-tested this firearm.
