Description
This lot consists of 39 rounds of 8mm Mauser centerfire rifle ammunition. The collection includes 35 rounds secured in seven five-round brass stripper clips and four additional loose cartridges. Each round features a brass case and a copper-jacketed spitzer projectile. Transcribed markings on the headstamps include the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant code LC at the 12 o’clock position with production years 53 or 54 at the 6 o’clock position. The primers are fitted with a black circular sealant ring.
Condition report:
The ammunition remains in good vintage condition. The brass cases and stripper clips show a layer of surface tarnish and age-related patina. The copper jackets on the bullets are intact with minor surface oxidation. The rounds appear to be live military surplus, though they are sold as collectable items with no guarantee of ballistic performance or reliability.
